After 10 months as a working student at Bloomhaus, Lukas Gaiser is now moving on to new opportunities. During his time with us, he contributed to exciting projects, gained hands-on experience, and became an integral part of the team. As he looks back on his journey, we sat down with him to discuss his key takeaways, and what this experience has meant for his professional and personal growth.
Lukas, how would you describe your experience at Bloomhaus when you look back?
Looking back, I am truly grateful for the time I spent at Bloomhaus. I had the chance to evaluate and engage with a wide variety of startups from different industries, which taught me a lot about assessing opportunities and risks from different angles. It also gave me a clearer idea of what I want to focus on moving forward and allowed me to build some meaningful connections along the way.
I am truly grateful for the time I spent at Bloomhaus.
What did you learn at Bloomhaus? What did Bloomhaus learn from you?
The most important thing I learned was that there are always multiple perspectives to evaluate a venture from. What may seem promising to one person could reveal flaws to others, and likewise, some opportunities might be overlooked without a variety of viewpoints. I believe my fresh perspective also helped Bloomhaus to question and improve existing processes and increase transparency with regards to the markets we looked at.

What were your most exciting projects?
The last deal I worked on was particularly exciting because I was involved throughout the entire process, from the first call with the founders to completing the due diligence. Even though we ultimately decided not to invest, it was a major learning experience for me as I got to dive deep into an industry for several weeks, analyzing the business model, the market, and various other aspects in the process.

Anything you are especially proud of?
Besides the experience I gained, I’m proud of making a lasting impact by contributing to the improvement of Bloomhaus’ organizational structures, for example by establishing a knowledge database. I’m also very happy with how I was able to manage both work and studies during my exchange semester in Mexico. The time difference created challenges in coordinating tasks and meeting deadlines, but we always managed to find a solution.
Many thanks, Lukas - we really enjoyed our time with you - all the best with your next steps!
