BTRY AG is a deep-tech spin-off from Empa and ETH Zurich pioneering ultra-thin solid-state lithium-ion batteries. These batteries that operate safely at high temperatures, enable ultra-fast charging, and feature an exceptionally thin form factor for next-generation devices. Founded in 2023, BTRY  has grown into a 14-member team combining deep battery expertise, industrial scale-up experience, and strong business acumen.
BTRY’s mission is to electrify  what was previously impossible from active logistics tags and high-temperature industrial sensors to MedTech applications and lightweight consumer electronics.

BTRY sits at the intersection of breakthrough technology and a massive , underserved market: the $0.5–1B microbattery segment (1–10 mAh).
By leveraging proven semiconductor manufacturing equipment and processes, BTRY can scale production faster and more cost-effectively than conventional battery manufacturers  - creating a category-defining opportunity in ultra-thin, high-performance solid-state storage.
The founding team combines deep materials science expertise with commercial execution, and their demonstrated performance already meets the needs of multiple high-value applications. We believe BTRY is positioned to become a global leader in the next generation of micro-energy systems.
